How To Stop Puppy From Biting
Dogs and Puppies must learn to inhibit biting
When puppies play with other dogs, they are using their teeth and they are biting. Through the interaction with their mother, littermates and other dogs, they learn the limits of biting. The problem is that the puppies usually are taken away from their mother before this socialization is finished. When the puppy arrives in your family it is still used to this playful puppy biting. Now it is your job to learn the puppy that biting is not acceptable. It is important that the puppy learns that biting is not acceptable before it reaches the age of 4 months.
Socializing with other dogs curbs puppy biting
You should do everything you can to let your puppy spend time with other dogs of different ages. Puppies and older dogs will respond in different ways to the puppy biting and will learn the puppy in a natural way that biting is not acceptable. The other puppies will squeal and bite back and older dogs will growl making it clear that this is the limit for puppy biting.
When the puppy is socialized with other dogs, it also has broader perspectives when it comes to the dogs relationship with other dogs and animals later in life. Another advantage of socializing your puppy with other dogs is, that it lets out steam and energy preventing it from treating you as littermate. So the scale of puppy biting usually decreases and other destructive activities as well.

Never punish your puppy for biting. You may stop your puppy from biting, but you may also loose his trust and respect, devaluating your future relationship. All modern dog trainers agrees that positive reinforcement is a far more effective way to educate your dog than punishment.
How to teach your Puppy not to Bite
Teach your puppy to bite less and less forcefully and then not to bite at all - unless you are initiating a game (adults only - children should not play rough games with the puppy). There are various approaches that can be used to teach your puppy to control its bite and to give you control over the puppy's biting. We recommend that you use all these methods so that the puppy learns in different ways.
When the puppy bites another puppy too hard, the other puppy squeals. You can imitate this with an 'Ouch' and you remove the hand, every time the puppy bites. Don't make it too theatrical, as the puppy may think it is a game and instead the puppy will bite again to get the effect.
Another method is when the puppy bites to remove the hand and substitute it with a toy. Slowly the puppy learns that biting hands are not ok but it is allowed to bite toys.
Another effective method is to withdraw your attention from the biting puppy. You can turn away or get up and leave every time the puppy is biting. No dog likes to be ignored and the puppy will learn that biting equals social isolation.
To stop the puppy from biting your hands you can try hand feeding your puppy getting the puppy used to your hands near him. If the puppy bites you stand up until he is calm before you continues the feeding.
Put a leash on your dog and use it to remove him from you every time the puppy is biting. Hold the puppy away from you in a fixed position for about 30 seconds.
You can combine different methods but remember to be consistent and very clear so the puppy experiences exactly the same reaction every time the puppy bites.
